CHICAGO (WLS) -- The CTA says trains are now moving faster than they have in the past 18 years because of fewer "slow zones."

Within these zones, trains have to go as slowly as 15 mph because the tracks are worn down. Recent projects have rehabbed the Red, Blue and Purple lines.

Now the CTA says the average round trip is 4-10 minutes faster.
