Tuesday is deadline for online Illinois primary voter registration

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Tuesday is the deadline to register online to vote in the Illinois primary election.

Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m., Tuesday Feb. 16. After that, you must register in person at early voting sites or on Primary Day at the polls.

This is the first presidential election in which 17-year-olds in Illinois can register to vote in the primary if they turn 18 by the general election on Nov. 8.

The Illinois primary is on March 15.
