FOX LAKE, Ill. (WLS) -- A man is lucky to be alive, officials say, after falling into Nippersink Lake. He was rescued when someone heard him yelling from help.

Officials say the man fell into the water around 6:30 p.m. after a snowmobile went through the ice about 100 yards from the shore.

A woman happened to go outside, heard him yelling for help and called the Fox Lake Fire Department. Two divers in thermal suits swam to the man and held him above water until an air boat could reach him and pull him out of the lake.

The man was taken to Illinois Medical Center suffering from hypothermia, but is expected to make a full recovery.
