We now know which lucky person in Florida won a giant piece of last month's historic $1.66 billion Powerball jackpot.

Melbourne residents David Kaltschmidt, 55, and Maureen Smith, 70, bought their winning ticket last month at a Publix supermarket in their hometown.

The couple stepped forward Wednesday to claim their lump sum share of the prize, worth $327 million before taxes.

Lottery officials announced someone in California, Tennessee and Florida won the Powerball, but it was a spectacle to see how people celebrated in Chino Hills.

The couple still can't believe they won.

"We didn't believe it. We just kept watching TV and going online and rechecking and rechecking," Smith said.

"Then they announced the Publix, Melbourne Beach. We said uh oh, this is the real deal," Kaltschmidt added.

Kaltschmidt said at a news conference Wednesday they didn't inform family members until last week that they won.

Three tickets matched all six winning numbers that were drawn January 13.

The first winning ticket was claimed in Munford, Tennessee, and the other was sold at a 7-Eleven in Chino Hills in Southern California. John and Lisa Robertson of Munford, Tennessee, cashed in their ticket last month, also taking the lump sum.

The Chino Hills winner has not yet come forward.
