Woman, 21, resuscitated by officer at O'Hare after collapsing, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 21-year-old woman's life was saved by a Chicago police officer Sunday at O'Hare International Airport, police say.

Police say at 3:41 p.m., a woman at O'Hare suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness.

A Chicago police officer responded and took control of the situation by performing CPR on the victim, police said. The officer requested an automated external defibrillator, but shortly before the AED arrived, the woman regained consciousness, police said.

The victim, a Chicago native, was transported to a hospital where she was treated and released.

The officer is currently assigned to the Airport Law Enforcement (North) District and has 19 years of service in the Chicago Police Department.
