Semi strikes transformer in Aurora; at least 150 ComEd customers without power

AURORA, Ill. (WLS) -- A semi struck a pole and a transformer in west suburban Aurora Thursday morning, closing Galena Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Route 31. ComEd officials said at least 150 customers are without power.

City officials said the crash occurred around 8:10 a.m. Injuries were reported in the crash, but the city did not release specific details.

ComEd officials said at least 150 customers are without power. Crews de-energized the area while they make repairs, which could take several hours.

City officials did not say when Galena Boulevard would reopen. Drivers are advised to take alternate routes.
