Fatal wrong-way crash on Bishop Ford expressway in Dolton.

DOLTON, Ill. (WLS) -- A two-vehicle, head-on crash on the Bishop Ford Expressway Saturday morning in Dolton killed one person and injured two others, Illinois State Police said.

Police said the driver of one of the vehicles, a Kia SUV, was headed northbound in a southbound lane near Sibley Boulevard at a high-rate of speed when it crashed with a Dodge Saturn at about 2:20 a.m.

Investigators said the Kia SUV, identified as 43-year-old Derrick Williams, of Dolton, did not slow down or break. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. Williams was charged Sunday with aggravated drunken driving, according to state police.

The passenger of the Dodge Saturn, 27-year-old Francisco Sotelo Juarez, of Chicago Heights, was killed. The Saturn's driver, a 35-year-old Chicago Heights man, sustained serious injuries, state police said.

The driver of the Kia sustained non-life threatening injuries and transported to St. Margaret's Mercy Hospital in Hammond, Ind.

At one point, the Bishop Ford was shut down and traffic was still slow several hours after the crash. All lanes have now reopened.
