CHICAGO (WLS) -- Delays continued into the late morning Tuesday on southbound CTA Red Line and Purple Line trains due to signal problems on the North Side.

At about 11 a.m., a CTA official said the issue has been resolved, but residual delays persist.

The signal switching problems persisted throughout rush hour near the Addison station stop.

Red Line trains are also not stopping at the Addison stop.

The issue started shortly before 8 a.m., when trains were standing at Addison for about half an hour. Train service resumed, although delays continued throughout rush hour.
