Construction worker rescued from Bridgeport trench collapse

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A construction worker was rescued from a trench collapse on Chicago's South Side.

Firefighters responded to the 3500-block of South Parnell Avenue in the city's Bridgeport neighborhood late Friday morning.

Officials said the worker was pulled out of the trench after his legs were buried in the collapse.

He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.
