The prices of U.S. postal stamps is dropping for the first time in nearly 100 years.

Starting this weekend, prices decrease from 49 to 47 cents for a standard letter.

The price change is because a temporary price hike granted to the postal service in 2014 is expiring.

The last time the postage rate dropped was 1919.
