Chicago Weather: Spring to remain on break over weekend
CHICAGO (WLS) -- It's been an unseasonably cold week across Chicago, and unfortunately, spring will remain on break over the weekend.
Scattered rain and snow showers will continue across the city and the suburbs on Friday as temperatures drop overnight. Saturday morning will be especially chilly.
"We're going to wake up to wind chills near single-digits - in the teens," said ABC7 Meteorologist Cheryl Scott.

Sox fans braved the snow and cold to attend the sold-out home opener at U.S. Cellular Field on Friday. But the unseasonable weather is putting a damper on just about any spring project, including planting and lawn care.
It's springtime in Chicagoland, but winter's trademark weather is snowing and sleeting all over it.
"I'm cold, I'm wet, I'm moving....starting to turn to an icicle," said Mike Balleto, Crimson Valley Landscaping.
He's supposed to be prepping yards for warmer temperatures, but that doesn't work so well when you're pushing through a layer of snow.
"I'm spreading fertilizer," Balleto said. "The machine doesn't do well. It slips a little bit. It's not optimal, that's for sure."
"People are so desperate for color," said Joan Murray, Gethsemane Garden Center.
Even in freezing temps, garden experts say it's actually ok to get the garden going with bulbs and flowers like pansies.
"They're not going to die, they've been out in the cold for a few weeks. As we say they've been hardened off," Murray said.
Even still, just like we can't give up those winter coats quite yet - don't leave plants uncovered against this unseasonable snow.
