Dave's Italian Kitchen closes after 44 years in Evanston

EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- It's the end of a dining institution in Evanston. Dave's Italian Kitchen is now closed for business.

Crews hauled equipment out of the Chicago Avenue restaurant Tuesday night.

The owners have not said what was behind the unexpected move. ABC7 spoke to a vendor who said he got the news on Monday.

Dave's Italian Kitchen served the Evanston community for 44 years.
