CHICAGO (WLS) -- The 45th Annual American Cancer Society Walk & Roll is happening Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Soldier Field in Chicago. The family-friendly fundraising event is a "party with a purpose." Participants can walk or run a 5k, skate in a 10k, or bike a 15k. There will also be live music and entertainment.
General registration is $15, but kids 17 and under can participate for free. The money raised funds lifesaving research and free American Cancer Society programs and services for cancer patients and caregivers. The American Cancer Society is always there, and you can get answers about cancer 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year at http://www.cancer.org and at the National Cancer Information Center, 1-800-227-2345.
