WHEELING, Ill. (WLS) -- Volunteers in suburban Wheeling collected care package items for hundreds of U.S. troops on Saturday.

The "comfort items," such as snacks, drinks and toiletries, were sorted and will be shipped overseas.

On Sunday, the items will be boxed up in care packages.

The project was organized by the family of James Stack, a Marine from Arlington Heights who was killed in Afghanistan.
