CHICAGO (WLS) -- A gay slur caught on camera during a Blackhawks game sets off a firestorm. Forward Andrew Shaw has apologized for his remark. And the NHL took action: Shaw had to sit out Thursday night's game and he must undergo sensitivity training.

Some have said this can be a teachable moment. But what kind of impact does an incident like this have on the gay community?
