A police sergeant surprised a Utah teenager who was heartbroken after his expensive racing bike was stolen.

Anthony Hilton is devoted to biking and practices for hours at a time. KTVX said the 16-year-old boy recently left his prized BMX bike outside the center where he rides for just a few minutes, and someone stole it.

The bike was worth up to $2,000. Anthony had no hope to replace it.

When West Jordan Police Sergeant Travis Brower found out about the theft, he and other officers pitched in and shocked Anthony with a brand new bike.

The sergeant didn't want any publicity, but got it anyway, when the community found out how he helped Anthony.

"That was his life. I mean, he just lives to ride his bike. You don't think there's good people left in this world, but there are. I owe everything to the West Jordan Police Department," said Annie Hilton, Anthony's mother.
