Mom with gun caught on camera at schoolyard fight

JACKSON, MS -- Parents and students at a Jackson, Mississippi, school is on edge after a mother briefly brandished a gun during what appeared to be a student fight.

A photo captured the scene of a mother with a gun on the campus of Forest Hill High School. In the background, a student fight appears to be happening, local station WJTV reports.

The school says the fight "had nothing to do with the parent and the weapon."

School officials say the mother was met by a school safety officer who didn't have arrest powers. The mother got away from the scene, and now a warrant is out for her arrest.

School officials say security has been strengthened since the incident. Authorities are also considering what punishment the students seen in the photo may receive.
