FBI: Bank robber sprays tellers with substance
The FBI is investigating a bank robbery in which the suspect sprayed an unknown substance in the face of tellers at a Hyde Park bank.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man is in custody after the FBI said he sprayed some type of substance in the face of tellers at a bank in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood Friday afternoon.

The FBI said the suspect also showed a handgun and demanded money at a Fifth Third Bank branch in the 1400-block of E. 53rd Street just after 1 p.m.

The man took off on foot but was arrested a short time later.

The tellers were treated at the scene by paramedics. No one was seriously hurt.
