WASHINGTON (WLS) -- Helping the fight against hunger is as easy as a trip to your mailbox. On Saturday, May 14th, the National Association of Letter Carriers and the U.S. Postal Service is holding its annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

Anyone interested in participating in the drive can leave a bag of non-perishable food next to their mailbox. Letter carriers will collect donations as they deliver mail along their route and take them to local food banks.

Last year the postal service collected over 70 million pounds of food, which fed approximately 30 million people.
