ALSIP, Ill. (WLS) -- Remains and other items recovered during the Burr Oak Cemetery investigation were reburied Tuesday.

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart organized the ceremony.

Between 2003 and 2009, workers at the cemetery desecrated graves and resold the plots. Four people were eventually convicted for their roles in the scheme. Dart says Tuesday's burial is a symbolic culmination of the scandal.
