CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two Chicago police officers are being called heroes for saving a woman's life.

"Out of natural instinct we were able to jump in, you know, and do the best to our abilities and it paid off in the end," said Officer Benjamin Cave.

On Sunday morning, Officers Cave and Frank Giuliano were called to a Logan Square apartment to help a woman who was not breathing.

Cave gave her CPD while Giuliano cleared the room and checked for a pulse.

When the woman started breathing again, she was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Cave just became a Chicago police officer last month, where he also proposed to his girlfriend of six years.
