Lake Shore Drive closed Sunday morning for Bike the Drive

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Lake Shore Drive will be closed to all drivers Sunday morning for the annual MB Financial Bank "Bike the Drive" event. The road will be closed between Bryn Mawr Avenue in Edgewater and 57th Street in Hyde Park.

Lake Shore Drive will be cleared of cars and closed to all motor vehicle traffic beginning at 5 a.m. Sunday, and will be open exclusively to bicycles until 12 p.m.

This year is the 15th year of Bike the Drive, which benefits the work of the Active Transportation Alliance a Chicago advocacy group working for better biking, walking and transit.

The event starts at Grant Park in downtown Chicago, at Columbus Street and Jackson Drive. For more information visit bikethedrive.org.
