CHICAGO (WLS) --Thousands of people take in 'Bike the Drive' each Memorial Day weekend. They peddle along the typically busy Lake Shore Drive. It's the one day of the year they don't have to worry about sharing the road with cars.

Jim Merrell from the Active Transportation Alliance discusses the issue. The organization works to make cycling, walking and public transit safe, convenient and fun.
