CHICAGO (WLS) -- The daughter of a Chicago police officer is thanking the city's finest with a sweet show of support.

Alexandra Casale, 6, collected donations so she could give candy to officers at her dad's station at 31st and Halsted. She and her mom made their special delivery during roll call on Thursday.

"She loves police officers, so we just came out and she's been handing out the bags to different officers because she likes to help," said Rose Casale, Alexandra's mother.

"It's very touching. It's very moving. It's very much appreciated," 9th District Cmdr. Daniel Godsel said.

Alexandra also wrote the officers a letter of gratitude for their hard work.
