Chicago's own Hot Mix 5 celebrates 35th anniversary (WLS)

The pioneers of House Music are celebrating their 35th anniversary by giving back to the city that made them famous. The original members of the Hot Mix 5 are reuniting for a family-friendly festival, DJ workshop, and health expo on June 11, 2016. The Hot Mix 5 are referred to as the greatest multi-cultural DJ group of all time. The members consist of The King of House Music, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Grammy Award Winner, Ralphi Rockin Rasario, Originator Kenny Jammin Jason, Legendary Mickey Mixin Oliver and Scott Smokin Silz,

The diverse one day family House Music Festival will include 60 local, national, and international DJs who've been influenced by the Hot Mix 5. Former Chicago Bulls star, Cliff Levingston along with other sports professionals will host the Free House Music Health Fair. Rap Mogul YoYo brings her Hip Hop Youth Workshop to the Free DJ Training Seminar (for ages 14 years and up) and more. Farley "Jackmaster" Funk from the Hot Mix 5 and Delece Williams, Founder of Kidz Korna, joined ABC 7 live from the event at McCormick Place to talk about all the fun.
