CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are investigating after a 73-year-old man was shot in the face Friday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.
The man was shot around 3 p.m. while sitting in his vehicle at a BP gas station in the 6700-block of South Jeffery, police said.
Investigators said a dark-colored SUV pulled up and someone inside began shooting, hitting the windshield of the man's car and shooting him in the cheek. The car then drove off.
The man was not the intended target, police said.
Police said he was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he is listed in good condition.
