American flag celebrated in South Loop

Old Glory was celebrated Tuesday in the South Loop, which is Chicago's largest Flag Day ceremony.

Several service members, who were wounded, were there with their families.

Firefighters were on hand to help people properly dispose of their tattered and worn flags.

Flag Day marks the day the United States adopted the stars and stripes on June 14, 1777.
