CHICAGO (WLS) --Chicago police say one person is in custody with charges pending after a CPD vehicle was involved in a crash in Bridgeport Monday.
Police say the police car was driving southbound in the 3500-block of South Halsted when a vehicle traveling northbound veered out of their lane and struck the police car. The officer was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is in good condition.
The driver of the offending vehicle struck a Chicago firefighters after becoming combative, police said. The firefighter was taken to a local hospital to treat a laceration, while the driver was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition and is in police custody. Charges are pending.
