Woman shot by robber at South Side bus stop

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 65-year-old woman was shot at a bus stop in Chicago's Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

Police said man tried to rob her at the stop near West 82nd Street and South Ashland Avenue around 12:40 a.m. Thursday.

When she tried to pull pepper spray out of her purse, police said he shot her in the arm and side.

She's recovering at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

Police are looking for the gunman. They said he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt during the robbery, but did not provide a detailed description of the man.
