CHICAGO (WLS) -- The One Summer Chicago program, which is putting thousands of young men and women to work, officially kicked off Monday.

Young painters were seen sprucing up a viaduct near 89th and Morgan as part of the program.

One Summer Chicago will provide more than 30,000 young people with job and internship opportunities.

The jobs are available in many areas, from urban agriculture to bike repair and office work.
