NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. (WLS) -- World War II veteran Chester Gryzbowski celebrated his 105th birthday Monday.

A party was held for him in North Chicago with friends, family and, of course, cake.

Chester is one of the oldest living veterans in Illinois. He claims he once met the notorious ganger Al Capone in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

Chester was honored on Memorial Day at a ceremony in Schaumburg.
