CHICAGO (WLS) -- "Hamilton" is a Broadway sensation that hits Chicago this fall, but you can gear up for the show with a best-selling book by an author who lives right in Andersonville.

Jeremy McCarter co-authored the book "Hamilton: The Revolution" with Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of the Broadway phenomenon. McCarter talked to fans anxious to hear about how the musical came about at a book signing on the North Side Thursday night.

McArthur did a special event at the Women & Children First Bookstore, right around the corner from his home.

McCarter was part of the team that developed the "Hamilton" production. The book tells how it all happened, from Miranda's earliest inspiration to the sold-out extravaganza it is now.
