Woman, child rescued from car in Sycamore creek

SYCAMORE, Ill. (WLS) -- A woman and 3-year-old were rescued from a vehicle that rolled upside down into a far west Sycamore creek.

Police say the young girl was in the back seat of a vehicle that drove off the road and flipped upside down in a creek Wednesday afternoon.

The Daily Chronicle reports sheriff's deputies and firefighters were able to lift the vehicle up so the girl could be freed.

The child was removed from the vehicle near 25086 North First Street and taken to Kishwaukee Hospital. The girl is in serious condition.

The woman who was driving was also taken to a hospital for treatment.
