Truck driver struck by car in Chinatown

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A truck driver was struck while standing outside his semi in Chicago's Chinatown neighborhood Wednesday morning.

Police said the 47-year-old driver was adjusting the load in his semi when a car accidentally hit him in the 2300-block of South Archer Avenue around 6 a.m.

First responders were still on the scene around 6:25 a.m. The victim was transported in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

Investigators said no charges were filed against the driver of the car.
