Edgewater man accused of distributing child pornography

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A North Side man is accused of possessing and distributing child pornography.

Police executed a search warrant Wednesday at 43-year-old George Alfred Schneider's home in the 5200-block of North Sheridan Road in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood.

Investigators said they found photos and movies of children engaged in sex acts on his computer and evidence showed he was responsible for disseminating those images.

Schneider turned himself in Thursday, police said.

He was charged with four felony counts of child pornography. He is due in bond court Friday.
