Chicago Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon forces weekend street closures

More than 18,000 runners are expected to participate in the Chicago Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon this weekend and more than a dozen live bands are scheduled to perform along the course.

It's a lot of fun if you're running in the race, but not if you're trying to get around downtown in a car.

The 5K race takes place Saturday morning. Columbus Drive will be closed between Randolph Street and Jackson Boulevard. It shouldn't cause too much of a traffic headache.

It's a different story Sunday morning. The 10K course starts and ends in Grant Park.
Several roads will be closed from Grand Avenue down south to 31st Street. Lake Shore Drive and Michigan Avenue will also be shut down.
