Father loses two sons in separate shootings, Chauncy Glover reports.

HOUSTON -- A father is grieving the loss of his second son in just a matter of days.

"I watch the news all day but I never thought I would be the one sitting up here talking," Charles Ferguson said.

The Ferguson family has been through a lot in recent days. Charles Ferguson just had the funeral for his 19-year-old son, Daquarius Tucker, this past Saturday. He was killed on the 4th of July in the Fifth Ward when someone opened fire at a block party. Police say Tucker wasn't the intended target.

Tragedy struck again Wednesday for the family.

Demarcus Tucker, 34, was shot and killed on the corner of Rosalie and Napooleon Street. A cross and a memorial now rest in the spot where Demarcus died.

"He was a good boy I didn't get to say bye," Ferguson said.

His family, already torn apart, is forced to grieve all over again.

"You can feel the closeness, and you can feel the love in this family and and yet tragedy still found them," family pastor Dr. DZ Cofield said.

Demarcus Tucker's family says police have the suspected shooter in custody. Investigators say it was a case of mistaken identity. Now this family and people in the community are saying the crime and the premature rides in a hearse are becoming unbearable and something must be done.

"It's beyond the rhetoric and beyond the words what one can say. The people in power have to address some root issues behind the gun violence that is occurring in the cities across the country and to make sure that the lives of these young men matter and they have value," Cofield added.

The family has set up a GoFundMe account to help with expenses. To visit the page, CLICK HERE.
