Car plunges into Mount Prospect pond

MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. (WLS) -- A car plunged into a pond in northwest suburban Mount Prospect Friday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the 1700-block of Wall Street around 8:15 a.m. and found a silver sedan half submerged in a retention pond.

Fire officials said the vehicle rolled into the water after the owner parked it and got out. No one was hurt.

The fire department said it is working with a salvage company to get the car our of the pond.
