CHICAGO (WLS) --Many parents consider buying new phones, tablets and laptops for their children at the beginning of the school year.
Dr. Devorah Heitner, the founder of Raising Digital Natives, shared advice for parents who may be stressed about navigating today's digital world.
Dr. Heitner has a Ph.D. from Northwestern University in Media, Technology and Society. She is also a mother.
She joined ABC7 Eyewitness News at 11 a.m. to speak on techno-guilt, being a confident media monitor and the three most common worries for parents: social skills, inappropriate content and safety.
Parents can read more in Dr. Heitner's new book, "Screenwise, Helping Kids Thrive and Survive in their Digital World," which comes out in September.
