CHICAGO (WLS) -- The fifth annual Kidney Action Day will be held Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Daley Plaza, featuring health screenings and cooking demonstrations.

Food Network star Chef Judson Todd Allen will be doing the cooking demonstrations. The rest of the event will feature kidney patient-advocates, health professionals, public officials and members of the community to raise awareness on the high rates of kidney disease in Chicago and minority communities.

U.S. Rep. Danny Davis, D-Chicago, will deliver remarks, and there will be free health screenings to check blood pressure, blood glucose and kidney function.
