McDonald's helps employees further education
McDonald's is now offering their workforce opportunities to complete and further their own education.

The restaurant McDonald's is now offering their workforce opportunities to complete and further their own education. The Archways to Opportunity helps employees on their journey - whether that's finishing high school, earning a college degree, or even learning English. Costs for the High School Completion program are covered by the Tuition Assistance Program. There is also tuition assistance for employees attending colleges and universities. McDonald's annually awards 50 scholarships of $2,500 (one per state) and 3 awards of $7,500.

The Archways to Opportunity also provides McDonald's management training. Through the English Under the Arches, English is taught to employees free of charge. And at McDonald's Hamburger University, students learn management curriculum and 28 languages, including Spanish, German, French, Japanese and Mandarin, with the opportunity for college credit to be earned.

McDonald's Owner/Operator, John Carnagio, and McDonald's Guest Service Department Manager, Alejandro Barcenas, sat down with ABC 7 to show how the Archways to Opportunity can transform lives.
