Police: CTA bus riders targeted for robberies in South Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are telling CTA bus riders to be alert after a pair of robberies in the city's South Chicago neighborhood.

Police said people are being targeted while either riding or getting off a bus.

Both hold-ups happened at the end of July within a few blocks of each other at East 87th Street and South Colfax Avenue and East 87th Street and South South Chicago Avenue.

Police said in both incidents the passengers were beaten and robbed of their valuables.
