North Riverside issues boil order after water main break

NORTH RIVERSIDE, Ill. (WLS) -- North Riverside has issued a boil order from 1st Avenue to 19th Avenue after a water main break Tuesday afternoon at 7th Avenue and Cermak Road.

Officials say the water pressure dropped to below acceptable limits, therefore the boil order was issued for "drinking and culinary purposes."

Residents should boil their water for at least five minutes before consumption until they receive an all-clear from the village, officials say.

Crews are making repairs on the water main break.
