Woman says she was attacked at South Side hospital
A 72-year-old woman said the man who attacked her as she walked into a South Side hospital is still on the loose Thursday night.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 72-year-old woman said the man who attacked her as she walked into a South Side hospital is still on the loose Thursday night.

Verbalean Bell said she was hit, kicked and punched by a man at Jackson Park Hospital Thursday afternoon. She said the man then took her watch and ran off.

Bell said the head of hospital security came out and tracked the man down, but only brought back her watch. She was told the man who attacked her is a patient of the hospital's mental health facility.

"They said they couldn't press charges on him because he is a mental patient. They would violate his rights. But what about my rights?" she said.

The hospital would not comment on the incident. Bell said she wants to press charges against the man.
