CHICAGO (WLS) -- An aspiring mixed martial arts fighter is shot dead on Chicago's South Side.

Police say 28-year-old Travis Allen was gunned down Wednesday morning outside his Englewood home.

The father of three was sitting in a parked car with friends in the 5700-block of South Emerald at 10:54 a.m.

A family member says two men walked up to the vehicle fired shots and ran.

Allen and three others ran, too. But Allen was struck multiple times in the torso.

Police say Allen was in a gang. But his family denies that.

Allen was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:32 a.m., police said.
