Man caught in crossfire, killed in Uptown

A 55-year-old man was shot in the right arm in the 900-block of West Wilson Avenue at 6:15 p.m.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police said an innocent man was gunned down in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood Friday night.

The 55-year-old was shot in the arm in the 900-block of West Wilson around 6:15 p.m. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he later died.

A witness said two groups of gang members were shooting at each other and the man was caught in the middle. The witness also said he believes the man was homeless.

No one is in custody.
