15-year-old boy seriously injured in Austin shooting

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 15-year-old boy was seriously injured Sunday night during a shooting in Chicago's Austin neighborhood.

He was standing in the 100-block of South Mayfield at 6:30 p.m. when a man walked up to him and fired shots in his direction, Chicago Police said. He was struck multiple times.

The boy was transported to Loyola Medical Center in serious condition.

No one was in custody Sunday night. Area North Detectives are investigating.
