On Thursday, the UIC Latino Cultural Center celebrated their 40th anniversary.

"Having a place where they can come and meet other people and also learn about their own heritage but also share with other people who are not Latino, that's really important because the center is open to everyone," Rosa Cabrera, director of the UIC Cultural Center, said.

Ten artists from the Latino community were on hand to finish up a new project in honor of the anniversary

It can be seen just outside the center at 802 South Morgan Street.
