ST. CHARLES, Ill. --Authorities are asking for the public's help in the search for a missing west suburban St. Charles man.
Dane Haggerty, 46, failed to return home from a business trip Friday, according to a statement from the Kane County sheriff's office. After his wife reported him missing, a St. Charles Park Disctrict Park Service officer found his vehicle at the Otter Creek Wetlands parking lot at 6N850 Crane Road.
The Kane County Officer of Emergency Management Search and Rescue Team is assisting with a ground search of the area, which was ongoing Saturday morning, the sheriff's office said. Investigators do not suspect foul play, but they said Haggerty may have harmed himself.
He is described as a 6-foot, 215-pound white man with brown eyes and brown hair, the sheriff's office said. He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt and khaki pants.
