CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 30-year-old Chicago man has been charged with shooting and robbing a 71-year-old man who was watering his lawn in the Marquette Park neighborhood earlier this month, Chicago police said.

Antoine Davis, who was arrested at his home on Friday, is accused of shooting Federico LaGuardia, 71, while he was outside his home in the 7000-block of South California Avenue just after noon on Sept. 6. LaGuardia was shot in the abdomen and robbed by Davis, police said.

Davis fled the scene on a bicycle. Surveillance footage from a neighbor's front porch captured the attack on video.

Davis, was turned in to police by a family member who recognized him in the video, appeared in court on Saturday. A Cook County judge denied bond.

He was charged with one count of armed robbery with a firearm and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm.

Davis' accomplice also fled the scene and has not yet been identified.

LaGuardia was transported in serious condition and has since been released. His family said his physical recovery is coming along, but it may take some time to recover psychologically.
